As a highly-acclaimed, Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon practicing in the Tampa Bay Area, Dr. Wayne Lee dedicates himself to helping others improve their overall quality of life by assisting them to achieve a healthy new self-image.
Dr. Lee’s unmatched talent and attention to detail is what sets him apart as one of the best in his field. Achieving excellence from the start as the Valedictorian of his high school class in Madison, Wisconsin, he was awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was then immediately accepted into the University of Wisconsin Medical Scholars Program, earning his Doctorate of Medicine in the year 2000.
After relocating to Chicago, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Illinois, Metropolitan Group Hospitals. It was when he scrubbed in to a 6-hour long TRAM (transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous) flap breast reconstructive procedure that he truly discovered his passion to work in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In an effort to master new cutting-edge techniques for Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Dr. Lee traveled to his birth country of Taiwan. It was at Taiwan’s world-renowned Chang Gung Memorial Hospital that he learned ground-breaking new microsurgical techniques and innovative methods to further perfect his Plastic Surgery procedures.
Dr. Lee completed a 3-year Plastic and Reconstructive fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Today, Dr. Lee is Double Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He also enjoys volunteering his time to the local Breast Cancer Community as well as the international medical community. He is the founder of the “Return 2 Fitness” program, a free program for post-operative breast cancer patients who wish to return to their personal fitness routine. He also volunteers his time and surgical expertise internationally, to programs such as Operation Smiles and Interplast South Medical Missions in Honduras, to help children with cleft lip and palate deformities.
Dr. Lee performs all cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. His added strengths are in rhinoplasty, facelift, breast enhancement, and breast reconstruction.
“A child’s smile is one of the most precious gifts in the world, so I do what I can to make them truly joyful,” he says,

Dr. Lee also attends weekly conferences to extend his expertise and knowledge in the field of Reconstruction for patients with Breast Cancer. Also, as a key speaker for local events such as “Focus on Females: Women’s Healthcare Symposium”, a seminar held to encourage the education of women about personal health; he educates others about new, cutting-edge technologies, such as Intraoperative Fluorescence Angiography. Dr. Lee utilizes this new technology, the Spy Elite system, to dramatically enhance the results of breast reconstructive surgical procedures and minimize the potential complications.
Having been featured on Channel 10 News as well as ABC Action News, Dr. Lee has received acknowledgement for his expertise in both Reconstructive and Cosmetic procedures. He has also been featured in local magazines such as Tampa Style and South Tampa Magazine.
Dedication to his field and providing quality care to all of his patients is of utmost importance to Dr. Lee. He is on the medical staff at six local hospitals, as well as the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Tampa and Brandon Surgery Center. His main Plastic Surgery practice is in Brandon, Florida.
